I finally dove into GPT and found some counterintuitive but powerful use cases.
Rather than focusing on churning out content to share with others, what if we got a little selfish and used the power of generative AI to help us strengthen our own thinking?
1. Use it to take the other side of an argument
Is your position clear? How can it be attacked? Did your thinking change with this new information?
2. Use it to fill gaps in your thinking
Do you have all of the information you need to see something clearly? Are you prone to biases? Does your thinking have blind spots or errors?
3. Use it to gain perspective
Are you too close to something and need to zoom out? Would you think the same way if you were able to see through someone else’s eyes? How does your message sound in different contexts?
4. Use it to translate
How can you say what needs to be said and ensure you’re understood? How can you customize your message for specific audiences? Are there better words to express what you’re trying to communicate?
5. Use it to take the first step
Why stare at a blank page hoping for inspiration when you have a powerful muse at your disposal? Do you need to be prompted to get going? Do you find it easier to keep going once you’ve started?
I purposely stayed away from ChatGPT and watched the hype from the sidelines before diving in…and now that I’m in I don’t see how our world is ever the same after this.
Besides writing Eminem songs about cats, cheating on exams, and saving an incredible amount of time on content creation, what are your most surprising use cases for generative AI so far?
